Tarion Star: Call of the Blade by BadLuck

The emergence of a magical artifact that regulates magic powers, the Tarion Star, throws two warring nations, the Taninbad Alliance and the Kingdom of Bunswick into disarray. Princess Arielle Bunswick, having spied the summit, is worried that the king, her adoptive father, will start a new war. And when her friend Tucker from the Temple of the Lilac sends her a letter than confirms her fears, she decides to find a way to leave the castle.
Meanwhile Siren VanLostia is a soldier of the Alliance that was defeated by the army of Bunswick. His friend Jess suggest him to quit drinking and visit Tucker at the Temple of the Lilac. During the night he's also visited by the vision of Arielle that tried to use her powers to contact the Great Paco, a famous hero. The day after Siren's long journey begins.

Tarion Star can be defined a classic rpg influenced by media like Lord of the Rings (just listen to the music), shounen anime, and also by a game I recently posted: In the Name of the Rose (Siren has a lot in common with Rune). The mapping in this game was well ahead of its time, cutscenes and characters were fun,and the game cleverly moves from different scenario with four different heroes.
The game, like those made by Bloodrose, has a custom menu but like in the previous game case it's a little buggy, in any case it still includes some nice features like different phases of the day. Recommended.

Random Fact: the first series of battles with Siren is probably one of the hardest part of the game, first because you're thrown into a series of unavoidable encounters with just a couple of healing items and no save point, second because if you make the mistake of interacting with a particular dead enemy you will be forced to face him again!

Final Verdict: this game was at least as good as the previous ones, even if made by another developer. Characters are well made and interesting, the only issues for me where the high difficulty of the first battle and some unfinished areas that weren't completed in this demo. Pity, because it was a really well made and enjoyable adventure!
