Solar Tear by Mr. Nemo

Solar Tear follows the struggles of Rebecca; a young hacker living in the slums vast metropolis of New Haven. The city is basically ran by a large corporation called Nova inc. Rebecca owes money to some people, so when a mysterious man called Sethian Murdoc sends her a message offering her a job, she immediately Leaves the slums, helped by Ayla, a nosy streetrat, born and raised in the slums of New Haven.

Meanwhile the head of Nova incorporated returns after years of absence. Also, the very man who attempted to murder him many years ago returns from the shadows, perhaps to finish the job?

Solar Tear is a two hours long demo adventure with a cyberpunk setting: it includes one sidequest, two or three minigames/puzzles, and alot of secrets that are, nicely built in the... confusing terrain. This game has some classical flaws of the old Rpgmaker games like the slow moving speed and battles, on the other hand the chipsets and charset used are all well-made edits that recreated a dark cyberpunk environment. The game seems to be influenced by Blade Runner, and even includes a sort of Roy Batty reference.

Random Fact: the demo was first released in 2004, then a revamped version, the one linked here, was re-relased in 2008 called Solar Tear REBORN. But later this game was cancelled, and Mr.Nemo started working on a remake called Arbiter: Prototype. Unfortunately no demo is available, but you can still check the pictures of this remake on the page here: https://rpgmaker.net/games/241/images/34435/

Final Verdict: I enjoyed the setting and vibe very much, despite some flaws like the confusing maps and the slow moving speed. In any case for a demo is pretty good and different from most other Rpgmaker games that take inspiration and try to replicate other famous games.
