Leo, a Freelancer is on the run, pursued by the forces of the Archmagister. Soldiers, war dogs and robots are on his tracks.
Then time rewinds to some days before this manhunt, to explain what is going on: Leo and other Freelancers, Scorpio, Libra, Aquarius and Sagittarus are a group of mercenaries trying to sneak through an underground passage and board a train. The Freelancers are from a country that is part of the Eastern Alliance, a coalition of countries that is at war with the Sol Empire. They were hired by King Gradia to steal a relic located in Tartaros, territory of the Sol Empire. Of course the mission won't go as smoothly as they hoped...

Zero Reality: Shattered World is a story driven techno-fantasy Rpgmaker adventure: the game is about exploring dungeons, managing the party members, using their skills to overcome enemies in random battles and the deadly bosses. Nothing original, but all well made with attention to the details, edited charsets and facesets (these are adapted from Fire Emblem), some custom made sprites and animations.
Random Fact: although the game relies on using save points to register your progress, in some dungeons where these are present, like the excavation site, it's also possible to save anytime. Probably this was an oversight by the developer, since it's an exception to the rule.
Final Verdict: Many players enjoyed ZR. However some felt the game was too similar to Final Fantasy VIII. But for me it is a good game!
