The Nothingness by Teo Mathlein

Lamina City is under siege: the Tau army is attacking, and General Alexander and the soldiers Pete and Dan seems to be the only survivors of the defending army. They have few instant of quiet before the Tau ninjas attack the city, so they decide to act fast, but things won't go as expected.
Raze, a boy that possess magical powers lives in a small town near Lamina City with his family and friend Nouk. The town elder decides to send Raze to Lamina City to investigate what happened, and spy the Tau army, assisted by Nouk and Talia, a girl that was arrested for theft. When they arrive, the trio finds General Alexander lying unconscious on the beach…

The Nothingness is a classic story-driven adventure with a party of characters, set in a fictional futuristic world. The game is mainly about exploring and Fighting battles, and the main attractive is probably the set of incredible hand-drawn colorful maps created by the author. The setting is evocative and unique. Check out this game:

Random Fact: Teo Mathlein's drawing skills greatly improved during the following years, and you can see what I mean if you play Sunset Over Imdahl and Wilfred the Hero. This last game was also made in collaboration with Brandon Abley, author of Tyrant God Saga, a game I posted before.

Final Verdict: this is one of the many games that wasn't completed and left in the demo stage. The plot isn't very original, anyway it's surely peculiar for its colorful aestetics, and stand out among many others of the same period.
