Obama RPG: Magical Quest 3 HD - Future Legend of Superhuman President Starring Barack Obama by Marche100

The Philosopher's Stone, an object of untold power that has been a part of many myths and legends throughout history. It is said to grant the user immortality and immense power; however, it has been lost to the ages for centuries.

The year is 2012. It just seems like another boring day in the White House until President Obama receives word that the White House is under attack from unknown intruders. Not one to miss a beat, he soon learns that the attackers, who come from another world, plan to overtake Earth and are searching for the fabled Philosopher's Stone.

Obama knows that he can't let the aliens find the Philosopher's Stone and use its power to take over the world, so he ventures forth and begins a search for it himself that will take him to the far corners of the Earth, through outer space, and even the edge of existence. But they aren't the only players in this game, and the closer Obama gets to the truth, the closer the Earth is to its end.

Obama RPG: Magical Quest 3 HD is a parodistic rpg adventure involving aliens and various characters, like politicians, singers and even protagonists of various movies and tv series like Doctor Who. The game uses edits and a mix of RTPs and real life pictures, while the gameplay uses the defaul Rpgmaker battles system and interface.

Random Fact: although the Rpgmaker.net page has no download set as official. the RMN archive contains eleven different versions of the demo. Check that  HERE (and check also for other games, if you want!).

Random Fact: a unique game, even if its "weird-modern-world-adventure" concept that involves some real-life characters reminds to me of Rezident Evil - it is Escape by twentyfour24. Unfortunately this one is just a demo, what a pity.

Dyhortfight series by Bradgeone (french)

This time not a single game, not two, but a series of four! Dyhortfight is in fact a French indie RPG series created with RPG Maker by Bradgeone starting in 2001, featuring an interconnected puzzle-like plot across multiple chapters.

Dyhortfight

In the first game of the series Bradge must destroy one of the Timeless Dragons in the year 2999. To do so, he must find a way to take part in a grand monster hunt organized by the King of Tempo.

Although it stands apart from the later episodes—particularly regarding the CBS, which hasn't aged very well—this is arguably the series' most uninhibited installment; it lays the groundwork for a complex time-travel plot and introduces us to a key figure: Bradge, the most ambiguous and unpredictable character in Dyhortfight.

Dyhortfight 2

This time, we dive into the 25th century, where Bloosky—accompanied by Kléa and Darkbeat—attempts to retrieve the seven energy orbs belonging to the Timeless Dragons...

This episode is the first to truly define the series, introducing elements that would become staples of the franchise, such as a trio of heroes, a menu system featuring spell learning and custom stat boosters, and a combat system with the visual flair of fighting games like *Street Fighter*. It’s a real feast for the eyes!

Dyhortfight 3

This installment stands out because it continues the story of Chapter 2 with Bloosky, Darkbeat, and Kléa, while simultaneously following another group—Alastor, Tyonie, and Oko. This time, the plot centers on a competition in the year 2436, where the winner earns the chance to ask two questions of the man who knows everything... The competition will be fierce, but will there be a winner?

Captivating, moving, and action-packed—don't miss this episode!

Oniromancie

Dyhortfight 4

The fourth chapter of Dyhortfight takes place primarily in the year 4000—an era equivalent to our own modern world. Follow Falco, Pride, and Etniie as you try to survive amidst Sleipnir’s elite troops, the "Enfants de Cœur," and the "doubles," whose power is beginning to rise dangerously.

This chapter can be played independently of the others, as it features its own unique story and plot.

Random Fact: the fifth entry is apparently in deveopment. This will the final chapter of Dyhortfight. You will have to travel through all the eras to resolve a multitude of temporal problems.

FADE by Milennin

FADE is a direct sequel to the first game, BETA. The story picks up shortly after the ending event from the first game, and continues to build on the established main characters from the first game, as well as introduce new characters later on in the game. It is not required to have played the first game, though.

The game begins with the heroes on a flying airship but soon everything goes badly and they will be stranded in the wilderness without equipment, trying to survive and reach civilization.

Unlike BETA, FADE is a classic fantasy jrpg with a cast of four characters: Roth, Thieme, Rage and Eldin return forming a classic party of four adventurers.
While Beta that was incentrated on the exploration of a single town, Fade is a journey (sadly incomplete) about traversing a forest, hills and a volcano. There are lots of enemies wandering the areas, and luckily no random encounters, but if you want to escape from combat then you need to use an item, the smoke bombs.  Combat is classic but with some features: for example you can recover some mana using the standard attack and each character has a special ability with no cost that provides a temporary small bonus to a party member. While the natural element of the enemy is not important (a fire elemental still receives full damage from Rage's fire attacks), some are able to protect and even counterattack physical or magical attacks, but luckily the game list the party members and enemies buffs and debuffs clearly.

Random Fact: you do not need to import the savegame from the previous adventure, BUT that's because the game when you start asked a series of things that happened in BETA. This will changes some dialogues and situations in the game. However, being a demo, this wasn't probably fully implemented.

Final Verdict: Fade is just a demo, but in my opinion compared to Beta it is an improvement under every aspect: I liked more the dialogues and situations in Fade, and I also was never stuck into a situations or place without knowing what I had to do next or where I had to go (this happend to me in Beta). There were also less annoying minigames and combat was balanced and familiar, but at the same time it felt different because of the particular complementary abilities. I also like how this game is player friendly, despite providing some good challenges too.

BETA by Milennin

Beta is the first rpg by Milennin, prequel of another game called Fade: in this game we control Roth the Thundergod, a stereotypical sword wielding adventurer and blonde hero protagonist that sometimes can switch to God Mode and becomes the real God of Thunder. Unfortunately Roth is also a troublemaker and a jerk, and his friends are probably even worse. The first is Rage, something like a half barbarian and half demon, 100% dumb, attuned to the element of Fire, and the second is Roth's brother Thieme, a cool young man with the power of Earth.

BETA is a 3-hours quest-driven RPG with a focus on lighthearted dialogue. Some quests will also present the player with mini-games or challenges that the player has to beat in order to progress. Along the way, you will be presented with choices as well, some of which will have an impact on the outcome of the story in the game. To find things to do you have to explore the game world. Talk to NPC's or interact with objects to find new things to do.
There is no ATB combat or traditional Jrpg exploration, and no inventory or party management, because despite this game being set in a stereotypical fantasy setting, this is totally an adventure game.

Random Fact: BETA was created in RPG Maker 2000, and was originally meant to be a test map for a much bigger project. This game was originally created back in 2007, and finally released in early 2013. This newest version is an update of the original game, but overhauls a lot of the game's feature and dialogues, providing many quality of life changes and overall improvements, as well as adding new content.

Random Fact: Beta is a game that made me smile several times (but never really laugh out loud) and spend some time with its query characters and weird situations. I had fun, and I think that graphics and sounds are really good, but story and characters are a bit lacking, but that's understandable being this the first game. Anyway yes, this is Beta, pretty good and clever in some parts, shallow and lacking in others, but without problematic issues like game breaking bugs and other serious flaws. Try it and see if you can enjoy and play it from the beginning to the end... surely if you like adventure games and cartoons you will find the experience rather entertaining.

Space Attorney by Superstroke & riderx40

Eris is a young attorney who worked in the purgatory for several years, until one day he became the accused in a rather weird case that left him in the spot. Can Eris win this trial with his friends or he will be sentenced to the blackhole for eternity?

Space Attorney is a little visual novel made for the 2016 Swapsie event by two developers: Superstroke made the first half and riderx40 the second. It's a very strange visual novel with surreal elements since it's about a lawyer that works in Purgatory that gets in trouble with aliens. Yeah. The game is short but very stylish, combining cutscenes with black-and-white silouhuettes to colorful slides.

Random Fact: while this is TECHNICALLY a fangame and parody of Ace Attorney it's so detached from the source material that you don't need to know anything (except maybe that it's about a lawyer!), I mean it's a different game, there aren't cameos of characters from the series nor there is anything that relates to it. Probably it was just a pun on the title.

Final Verdict: Space Attorney was a game I probably found while looking for Ace Attorney fangames, but well this game is really not what I expected. Well I'm not sure anyone can expect something from this game, that's really peculiar, original and unique adventure, surely not without flaws but probably this can be excused being this an event game also done by two different developers. That's not easy!
So if you want to play a bizarre interactive visual novel ("so bad it's so good")... you won't be disappointed! Unrefined, but wildly awesome.

Lakria Legends by KoopaKush

The world you live in is known as Lakria, a planet blooming with lush life and full of wonderful mysteries and legends. Many inhabitants of the world often give praise and thanks to Gaea for bestowing them such a life to live.  Until one day, the energy of the Lakria appears to be waning and the planet slowly begins to start dying. Everyone is in shock and is wondering what might be causing the planet's pain, they began to look up at the sky to Gaea for a miracle, hoping she will once again visit the planet and bless it with rebirth.

The game is about Ren, a young boy that lives in a small village with his family. Soon an emperor that is hungry for power sends his men to kidnap Ren's sister Leena, since she seems to possess powers and is able to talk to spirits. Ren of course decides to step in and rescue his sister, but this is just the first step to a quest for the future of Lakria.

Lakria Legends is a classic Rpgmaker fantasy adventure, a lighthearted epic quest that will take the young protagonist to explore every corner of this colorful world. Expect many battles, many playable characters, puzzles and minigames. The game is rich of content and it's a nostalgic adventure involving elemental powers and while not very original it's surely a high quality complete game.

It won Game of the Year and the Best Sound/Music awards for 2017 at Rpgmaker.net.

Random Fact: since the game is pretty big and full of things to do, there is a handy guide/walkthrough available. This complete guide can be found HERE.

Final Verdict: and excellent adventure game with lots of clever puzzles, side activities and adventure.

Blood Aegis - episode 1: Memories by OSSUS

There was a war between good and evil, and the legion of the Astarian Templars was able to overcome the demons. Humanity survived, while the demons were banished, and the Astarian Priests created a magical item called... the BLOOD AEGIS, a magical living shield able to divide the demons and the Material Realms for good. But after 500 years there are rumors of the return of the demons, and something sinister is happening in Old Haven.

Enter a couple of Astarian Templars, the wise experienced Admir and the brave young Amisha. Amisha is from Old Haven, and she is worried about her hometown. The voyage will be uneventful, but once they arrive there they will learn that evil has returned.

Blood Aegis is a first episode that was surely going to be the first part of a dark fantasy saga centered about finding the legendary Blood Aegis and use it to save the world from the demonic invasion. I cannot really define this a demo, since it have an ending, or to be precise, two.
This game includes a couple of dungeons and is centered about investigating the evil that infested Old Haven, the nearby forest, caves and ruins. The game includes many battles and a couple of puzzles, a single merchant and few locations to visit, but the dark atmosphere is really well realized.

Random Fact: the intro sequence that you can see above is a cool cutscene and a dialogue between the two protagonists that seems lifted directly from Finding Forever Eden, since it uses the same background and style, see below the comparison:

Another interesting thing is the ending: there are two that are really similar, but only one of them will make the two heroes defeat the real evil that cursed the land, the other instead will just make them defeat some minor henchmen and will leave them slightly unsatisfied and uncertain, but then the epilogue will play in the same way, it just changes the final boss and some lines of dialogues. The only issue I have with this choice is that you can get one ending on the other depending on which direction you will take at a certain point, but there is NO indication that one will lead to a better outcome.

Final Verdict: I must say that Blood Aegis was a little more glitchy than I expected, still it's not terrible, even if it is clear that the final part was pretty much rushed. But if this was the first game of the developer, well it wasn't too bad, I just wished it was fleshed a bit more, with more maps, weapons and story. This is still a decent prototype for those who like playing old classic rm2k3 adventure game.
