Legend of Heroen by Souefans

 

In the ancient past the evil demon Kartandor planned to attack the tower of master Karulord and kill him once and for all. The plan was to envelope the world into darkness and conquer it, but Karulord stopped him, unfortunately his only son, Jingo, died that day. A long time passed, and Ibeli the evil witch plans to resurrect Kartandor and resume his evil plans.

Aesierth is an old wise man with a mysterious past that lives in the small island of Londif, where he raised his grandson Herion. This young boy, after a brief encounter with the witch Ibeli, will be tasked to start a search for the forgotten mystic runes from the legends to stop the evil plans of Kartandor… 

 

 

Legend of Heroen is a game that started being developed during the first days of Rpgmaker 2000. It's a classic epic fantasy adventure with many characters, but there are also action sections, puzzles and minigames, from dodging boulders to ship boarding battles, desert survival and magic duels. There are lots of custom menus and systems, graphic is colorful and maps are really well done, a mix of RTPs, various resources and edits. 
The game won the 2nd place in the 2001 Hellsoft.net Competición de Juegos, and the 1st placd in the 2012 Hellsoft.net Competición de Juegos.

Random Fact: in the version of the game I played there were't enough Magic Spheres to complete all skillsets for all the playable characters. Everyone needs at least one though, so use them strategically. An advice is get Edilgarath's 'Thunder Hit' and Katy's 'Beating Up'.

 

 

Final Verdict: an incredible project, really impressive. One of the best games made by the spanish rpgmaker community and a real classic fantasy game.
